The Serpa BMW Team
Stefano Serpa grew up with ‘oil in his blood.’ He started out washing cars, running around the Avante Mazda service area with a washer fluid bottle, demanding to top up cars. It was a kind of family tradition, starting at the bottom. He joined Serpa BMW after graduating from Brock University in June 2012 and can still remember the first BMW he sold: a silver 328i, with black leather and a sport package. And the next: an X5 diesel in platinum grey. “My favorite part of the job is seeing the pure excitement from clients when they pick up their beautiful machine. It feels good knowing I was apart of something memorable.”
Michelle’s BMW experience is extensive and she has been involved with the brand for five years. Her favourite part of working at Serpa BMW is that “the people are all friendly and management is very supportive.” Michelle was born in Fuzhou, China and speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese.

Kyle will be with the Serpa Automotive group for almost three years in April 2016. I have always loved the BMW brand and started working directly with it when I began with Serpa BMW. “The fact that everyday I essentially get to sit down and have a conversation with someone new or an old friend is the best part of the job. You start to feel like part of a community.”
Beijing-born Frances Fan has been involved with Serpa BMW for more than two years. She states, however, that she “fell in love with the brand” 10 years ago. Her favourite part of working at the dealership is when “clients appreciate my help” so much that they send her referrals. “Serpa BMW gives me full management support and a comfortable working environment to serve our clients the way it should be,” she says. Frances speaks Mandarin.
It’s her first year at Serpa BMW but has been involved with BMW for 3.5 years. “I like to help staff achieve administrative goals.” She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
Mat loves autos and motorcycles. Not just a car buff, he lives the dream by modifying and racing vehicles. He worked at our Richmond Hill Mazda dealership before transferring to Serpa BMW this year. He feels that helping find the right vehicle for individuals, “makes a difference in their lives.” He lives by the motto ‘to never lie and never prejudge an individual.’ In his spare time, in addition to his auto interests, he enters fitness competitions, including this year’s Tough Mudder, the Becel 75km Ride For Heart and Sporting Life 10K.
Tony’s background was in the restaurant industry before joining us last year. He has been in love with autos “his whole life.” He is also a trained wine expert. “The culinary and auto businesses have more in common than people might believe,” he says. “Customers are guests entering your premises and they deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. They tell their friends when they had a good experience, and that’s what builds the business.”
Albion started with another luxury brand at 18 years old but has now been involved with BMW for five years. He also is in charge of Warranty Administration, an important post. He considers himself very hands on. “Show me how to do it a couple times and I have it down,” he says. What he loves about working at Serpa BMW is the opportunity to “learn something new daily.”
Romana has been with Serpa BMW for two years but has been associated with the BMW brand for 10 years. “What I like about my job is all the different challenges I go through each day,” she says. “I enjoy the customer service, talking to customers and providing them with the best service possible.”
Sheldon is nearing three years with Serpa BMW but has been involved with the BMW brand for more than 16 years. “What I like about my job is addressing clients concerns and resolving them in a fair and professional manner.”
Ray has been with Serpa BMW for over a year but has been involved with BMW for 12 years. He likes many things about his job, including “The BMW brand, helping customers and technicians, learning about upcoming products and meeting and interacting with different people every day.”
Rob has been with the dealership – and the BMW brand -- for nearly six years. “I enjoy the people I work with and the daily challenges of helping to find the right parts for our customers,” he says. “I am always learning new things. Each day is a little different.”
